What is the role of Parliament?

Parliament has powers to make laws on any matter “for peace, order, development and good governance of Uganda.”

It also has the duty to protect the Constitution and promote the democratic governance of Uganda.
To provide for taxation and acquisition of loans and thereby enable government to work.
To scrutinize government policy and administration
To approve presidential nominations for ministers, judges, ambassadors and other positions specified in the Constitution.
